Finland

You read it right the first time. I’m going to the country of Finland, and you are probably wondering why I am going there. It’s a long story, but I’ll give you the quick version of it.  While traveling in New Zealand I met two Finnish sisters Paula, and Sanna. After meeting with them for the next few hours they invited me to visit them in Finland to study. A few applications later, a trip to New York, and several meetings with MSU I have a hot date with Rovaniemi, Finland for the next semester. The little detail Paula, and Sanna forgot to mention on our meeting was that where I’m going it can get cold. -40 cold. As someone who isn’t the biggest fan of the cold I will get over it since I’m in the country where my mother’s family immigrated from. I’m not sure what to expect from this trip. Maybe it is the Finnish culture, or maybe learn something about this so called socialism we American’s are afraid of that spikes my curiousity. When I asked my friend what is Rovaniemi known for she gave me a response I was not expecting. For some reason Santa Claus has an office in Rovaniemi. All these years I thought Santa was at the North Pole and yet I was lied to. So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year because this whole this just got a lot more interesting.

Kind Regards,

Weston
